Candice Kumai, a former host of Lifetime’s Cook Yourself Thin and TLC’s Homemade Simple, traveled across Asia, NYC, and LA gracing runways and lookbooks as a fashion model by the age of 15. By age 23 she received her professional culinary training at Le Cordon Bleu California School of Culinary Arts and has cooked in several California-based restaurants. Candice was the youngest chef to compete on Bravo’s inaugural season of Top Chef at age 23. As a major trend-setter and influencer, by age 30, Candice wrote and contributed recipes to more than half a dozen cookbooks, including the New York Times #1 bestseller Cook Yourself Thin, The Skinny Bitch Cookbook, Recipe Rehab, Novak Djokovic's Serve to Win and Tara Kraft's Bikini Body Diet Cookbook. Her own cookbooks include Pretty Delicious and Cook Yourself Sexy, and her newest book release is scheduled for Winter 2014. Candice has been featured in and contributes to dozens of food, health beauty, fashion and lifestyle publications.

In 2012 Candice began hosting workshops in New York City at the James Beard Foundation on “Kickstarting your First Cookbook.” Candice teaches regularly at Whole Foods, Bowery. Additionally, Candice has been an ambassador to the White House AAPI Alliance & The Resolution Project at Harvard Club, NYC. Candice has been a speaker at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, Columbia University Medical Center, The NBA, and as a panelist for Harlem’s Farm to Table initiatives. Candice lends her cooking and nutrition efforts with Future Fortified (1,000 Days), Whole Foods, The Chef’s Garden, and Health Corps. She is a fellowship member of The UN Foundation.

Candice has appeared on E! News, The Today Show, The CBS Early Show, The Doctors, Dr. Oz, Extra, Access Hollywood, Cooking Channel, Food Network, The Kris Jenner Show, Top Chef, Iron Chef, The Marie Osmond Show, The Nate Berkus Show, and Better TV.

Candice is currently a regular judge on Food Network’s Iron Chef America, a contributing editor at Shape Magazine, and a monthly columnist at Men’s Fitness Magazine. She is currently studying nutrition at Columbia University, and lends her extra hours to many of her heartfelt charitable causes.
