Isla Fisher is a self-confessed T-shirt and jeans girl, but working with costume designer Patricia Field on Confessions of a Shopaholic encouraged her to take more fashion risks. Find out what the two have to say about dressing with confidence and looking fabulous without spending a fortune.
Q:How was working with costume designer Patricia Field on your wardrobe?
Isla Fisher: She's incredibly imaginative. She's not married to any designers and she's open minded. Every single look tells a story. I'm not a fashionista. I don't have much experience in that world, but I felt I was kind of educated in the end and that even my own fashion style is now sort of braver. I enjoy dressing a lot more.
Q:What was your inspiration for the costumes in Confessions of a Shopaholic?
Patricia Field: My inspiration for Isla Fisher's character, Rebecca Bloomwood, was her energy. She was a frantic shopper. She has tons of things and variety. The energy of the character and the actress led me to a variety of bright clothes.
Q:How would you describe your fashion sense?
Isla Fisher: I am not too into fashion because I am more of a jeans and T-shirt girl. Thanks to Patricia Field I have become more confident about the way I dress. But I am more comfortable in sneakers or Ugg boots.
