ESSENCE.com: You've expanded the Tracy Reese portfolio into footwear with a license from New York-based Highline United. In terms of style, what head-to-toe Tracy Reese looks can we expect you to send down the runway for spring/summer 2010?
TRACY REESE: Shoes are the finishing touch on any outfit and it is important to complete a look with the perfect pair! We strive to brace the multi-colored, spring collection with a beautiful black macramé sandal and an edgy black birdcage sandal with all-over straps.

ESSENCE.com: Did economic doldrums affect the way you produced your spring/summer 2010 collection? And if so, how have you kept your three apparel lines (Tracy Reese, Plenty by Tracy Reese and Frock) on the pulse of fashion in this cost conscience climate?
REESE: The economy made me focus on designing more must-haves. The most important thing to keep in mind when shopping is to buy pieces that are versatile and can be worn all seasons and easily dressed up or down. I try to design items that will add to and make the most of a woman's current wardrobe.
