What do you value most in life?
What drives you?
What principles guide your decisions?
What do you ultimately want to achieve in your life?
What's your mission in life?
What's the vision for your future?
Have you ever asked yourself any of the questions above? In the day-to-day rush the importance of these questions are often overlooked.
Four years ago, my father handed me a 27-page packet of paper entitled "Blueprinting Exercises". And in return, I gave him of look of doubt and uncertainty. On the cover were the exact questions that I listed above and I'd be lying if I didn't admit that my curiosity had been piqued.
From that first year and for every year following, I've completed this Blueprinting exercise, originally designed for independent financial consultants such as my father, but adaptable for any profession or person. Identifying the things that I value most in life, like exploring my purpose here on earth, designing a vision for my future and most importantly creating very real, obtainable goals that I would accomplish in a year's time and sometimes goals I laid out for the next several years to come were consummated.
The Blueprint is a way to get it all out. It's a way to put down on paper, without any judgement, exactly what matters. With this you'll be giving the opportunity to identify what you wish to change, what you desire and where you'd like to see yourself winding up in the future. It's all up to the the Bluprinter as to how much value is received from the exercise. For me personally, the best part about completing this every year is looking back and seeing how far I've come from what I set out to accomplish.
Being that it's the beginning of a new year I wanted to share with you this life-changing exercise that I've adopted. Over the past several years I've shared this document with several friends, co-workers and family members. If you are interested in receiving the Blueprinting Exercise I'd be happy to share it with you, too. Just comment below and I'll get in touch with you.
