In the midst of planning my wedding, I also have to start planning my health.
Working at SHAPE, I'm exposed to many different diet fads and most recently the fad has been cleanses. Namely the Blueprint Cleanse. A few of my co-workers tried it and raved about it and I began to get curious. I researched and it turns out they have a Bridal Package!
I'm sure you're wondering, what exactly IS a cleanse. The Blueprint Cleanse (BPC) is the first nutritional cleanse offering different levels of intensity depending on your personal dietary habits and history. The gist is you replace your everyday meals with six 16 oz of raw fruit and vegetable juices daily to nourish your body while you give it a break. The founder of the BPC and nutritional consultant, Zoe Sakoutis explains that every once in a while the body needs to rid itself of toxins, from the air we breathe, the food we eat and the water we consume. Depending on the length of the cleanse, it can accomplish different things. A three-day cleanse helps the body rid itself of old built up matter and cleanses the blood. A five-day cleanse starts the process of rebuilding and healing the immune system and a ten-day cleanse will take care of problems before they arise and fight off degenerative diseases, according to BPC's website.
To be clear, a cleanse is not a "fast". This is a nutritional and nourishing cleanse that removes toxins and promotes healing by providing the blood with vitamins, minerals and enzymes that it needs.
If you think about it, when you're planning a wedding, one of the last things you're worrying about is your health. Many brides have told me that they lost 10 lbs just from stress weeks before the wedding. But if you can cut your health off at the pass, you can drink your way to your best shape ever (the non-alcoholic kind, of course!) with fresh pressed juice. The Blueprint Cleanse offers packages of cleanses to keep Brides-to-be committed year-round. You can also use the cleanse as a Bridal Party Bonding activity, it may help to have a buddy system in place for the first few times you cleanse.
The Blueprint Cleanse Bridal packages are fully customized around your needs and schedule and start around $350.
The Schedule that BPC has on their website, for the Diamond Package, has the Bride "cleansing" 10 times starting with the Engagement Party, Dress Shopping, Tasting, First Dress Fitting, Bachelorette Party, Final Fitting, Bridal Shower, Pre-Wedding, Post-Wedding, Post-Honeymoon. Although you don't have to follow this schedule to the T, the schedule does give a variation of 3 days of cleansing and 6 days of cleansing, depending on you personally. BPC recommends if you have more than a year to plan your wedding, opt for the 36 days of juice for the optimal glow on your wedding day.
The "Platinum Package" is 18 days of juice and BPC says to start this package six months before the nuptials--the schedule they recommend is four three-day jaunts of cleansing with one six-day in the middle around the final fitting of your gown.
The "Gold Package" is for when your wedding planning is winding down and you need something to kick your health and fitness plans into high gear. This package is nine-days of juice spread out around the final weeks of preparation. The "Silver Package" is a crash course in juicing that will allow you to get maximum results with just a six-day cleanse right before your wedding.
I can't wait to start my "cleansing" journey!
