Thanks to the wonders of the Facebook, the cat was out of the bag. Anyone who knew us, knew we were engaged. Suddenly, my Inbox was flooded with emails asking lots of questions I didn't have the answers for. One of my good friends bought me a big pink binder that said The Ultimate Wedding Planner & Organizer, it was a start.
But that was the question...where do I start?
One of my friends who is also engaged bought her dress before she even picked a date. I couldn't phathom buying that first without even knowing what season I'm getting married in. Where to start planning for a wedding is sort of like the age old question, "What came first? The chicken or the egg?" I started to panic. I was stressed out BEFORE I made any plans.
Jeremiah and I finally sat down and had a talk about what we both envisioned for our wedding. We both agreed on a Fall wedding in 2012 with a rustic feel but with a touch of elegance and vintage pieces. Since we both work in the marketing field, planning events--we've seen it all. We did not want a typical cookie-cutter wedding, we wanted something that represented us and our creativity. We also didn't want everyone and their cousin in attendance. Small and intimate and lots and lots of singing and dancing.
Something similar to the wedding I found on Style Me Pretty. This wedding blog has been my go-to source for inspiration and to light the proverbial fire under my tush to get things done in a timely fashion. I love the use of the jewel tones and rustic elements. The Bride's dress is simple and etheral and the decor is whimsical and creative.
It is possible to get it all done. I think I can, I think I can.
Hey, it's not too late to get hitched in Vegas...
