Earlier today The Associated Press revealed from an anonymous source that 16-time Grammy winner and new mom Beyoncé will be the half-time performer at Super Bowl XLVII! Shortly after, the superstar herself posted the below photo to her personal blog. February 3, 2013, of course, is the date the big game will go down at the Mercedez Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
The official statement confirming the AP report is to be released Wednesday, but from the look of this photo, we're pretty certain it's in the works. (Otherwise, she failed to mention how much of a football fan she is when she spoke to us about the fitness regimen she keeps to maintain her delicious bod.) After the birth of Blue Ivy, her daughter with rapper Jay Z, last January, Beyoncé lost 60 pounds and quickly got back into performance-body shape, making our list for the Top 10 Hottest Stars of Summer for 2012.
We have to say, this recent news has got us going crazy: Will Jay Z be a guest performer (and steal her stage like she did at his concert at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn recently)? What moves will she whip out to show off that bangin' post-baby bod? Will Blue Ivy make a cameo?
At last year's Super Bowl, Madonna graced the half-time stage, bringing in 114 million viewers, more than the estimated number of people who actually watched the big game (a mere 111.3 million). Guest performer M.I.A. stunned the crowd when she flashed a birdie to the screen. We're fairly certain the new mom will keep the performance a bit more family-friendly. And one thing's for sure, more than just the single ladies will be putting their hands up for this irreplaceable singer next February 3. Stay tuned for the official announcement!
