I am always in awe of anyone who's been able to master pull-ups, but for country crooner Carrie Underwood, they're no big thing.
Yesterday, her personal trainer tweeted a photo of Underwood doing chin-ups like a boss with the caption, "Check out @CarrieUnderwood killing it on pull-up day! Awesome job!"
We already knew that Underwood swears by lunges and squats for her lean, sexy legs (there's a reason they're a lower-body workout classic—they work!), but it's great to see her focusing just as much on her upper body too. Whatever she's doing clearly works!

Trying to master the pull-up? It's often thought of as the ultimate test of strength, but it's notoriously difficult, and you have to use all your major and minor muscle groups to execute it properly. Still, there's no reason why a healthy, fit woman can't learn to do them! A good place to start is by adding triceps dips, lateral pull-downs, pushups, and biceps curls to your workout routine, fitness expert and Shape editor-at-large Jay Cardiello says. Once you're feeling more comfortable, follow this CrossFit-inspired progression plan to do five pull-ups in a row. Soon you'll be doing pull-ups all day, every day.
