The DWTS pro surprises his partner at her Malibu cover party!
July cover girl Maria Menounos didn’t just shape up for her photo shoot, she made the magazine launch another reason to get active, and that’s why she is such a real life SHAPE girl! Rather than pop a bottle of bubbly to celebrate her cover, the TV personality and her boyfriend Kevin Undergaro invited friends and fans to join in an active day of fun in the sun at the Chapstick Beach House in Malibu.
Aside from a few games of beach tennis against NFL pro Terrell Owens, Menounos took healthy cooking lessons alongside Lisa Rinna. But our favorite part of the party was when Dancing with the Stars partner Derek Hough snuck up on Menounos mid-lesson surprising her with his unexpected appearance. Once there, the professional ballroom dancer got in on the action joining Owens and Menounos for a round of tennis.
In addition to the beach tennis, and cooking classes, guests were lead by Mandy Ingber, author and creator of Yogalosophy, through a 20-minute yoga routine. They also received one-on-one consultations with fitness and lifestyle consultant Ashley Borden who you may recognize as the co-host of the Cooking Channel’s Drop 5 Lbs. The fitness filled day ended with a core workout taught by Michael George, the author of Body Express Makeover: Trim and Sculpt Your Body in Less Than Six Weeks.
To fuel all these workouts, guest sipped on Zico Coconut Water and Silk Soymilk. And, in addition to the cooking lessons, there was a healthy snack demo conducted by former pro athlete Steve Moyer. Forget the chips and dip, we want all our parties to be like this one! And as if the day weren’t fun enough, all the female guests got to take home a brand new pair of Ryka sneakers! Maria has been such a fitness role model over the past month. Seriously, look at the kind of party she threw! Head over to newsstands if you haven’t already, Maria’s July issue is still on sale for a few more days. Her interview will inspire you and her workout will kick your butt!
