Kristen Stewart normally plays down her makeup and hair for red-carpet events, instead choosing to let her naturally gorgeous bone structure stand out. But last night she wowed fans and critics alike on the red carpet at the L.A. premier of Twilight: Breaking Dawn in a purple J. Mendel dress with an up-to-there slit and black Jimmy Choos stilettos, along with a dark, smoky eye and a perfectly imperfect up-do.
Fekkai celebrity stylist Adir Abergel, wanted to create a look that he says matched "Kristin's usual tousled and textured style with a touch of rockability." The surprising secret to this up-do? Braids! It looks hard, but it's really not! Here's what Abergel did to get Stewart red-carpet ready!
1. Abergel began by applying a texturing and shaping gel to Stewart's hair, followed by Fekkai Oceanique Tousled Wave Spray to get that piecey, just-came-from the ocean look.
2. Next, he rough-dried it and selected random pieces to braid, while still leaving the hair on top loose. The key to this look is creating different braids (fishtail, standard, etc.) in different sizes.
3. After that, Abergel simply took all of the braids and twisted and pinned them to create a "messy" up-do. He finished by teasing her hair on top to create volume, pushing it back and pinning it in place.
And there you have it! That's how you get Kristin Stewart's red-carpet hairstyle.
What do you guys think? Is this something you'll try for your next big event?
