Witches of East End star Jenna Dewan Tatum graces the latest cover of Natural Health and dishes on all aspects of her healthy lifestyle, from her vegan diet to her natural beauty routine to how she stays fit and stress-free as a new mom and wife to husband Channing Tatum.
The actress and former professional dancer, who gave birth to daughter Everly just a little more than a year ago, shares her fitness tips for getting in incredible shape post-pregnancy, which includes strength training and dance-based cardio with her trainer three times a week.
Dewan Tatum, an avid animal rights supporter, also describes her vegetarian-to-vegan transformation: "After going vegan, I felt so much better. My skin cleared up, I had a ton more energy and I just felt clearer in the head." As for daughter Everly, she's doing her best to introduce healthy eating habits without forcing her own beliefs, she says. "My pediatrician believes it’s completely healthy and possible to have a vegan child, and I think that’s amazing. But when Everly gets older, I think we should allow her to be her own person."
When it comes to her hubby, they may be opposites-attract ("He’s a meat-eating Southern boy from Alabama!" she says), yet he's willing to give her healthy favorites a try too. "I swear by a green smoothie every morning with spinach, romaine, kale, apples, and banana. I’ve gotten Chan into those too."
That's not to say Dewan Tatum doesn't ever indulge. "I try to be good, but I’m not a robot." Her favorite treats? "Vegan pizza. And I can't turn down a French fry! When I was pregnant, that was my Kryptonite!"
