When 5 p.m. rolls around and you need an afternoon pick-me-up, step away from the vending machine and pump up your playlist instead. Our pick? Cuban-born beauty Mayra Veronica's latest hit single, "Mama Mia."

The original Spanish version of the song raced up the charts (it's been nominated for Best Latin Dance Song at this winter's IDMA Winter Music Conference) and is now making waves in Zumba Fitness classes nationwide. Fans won't be surprised by the single's success; Veronica topped the charts with "Freak Like Me" in 2011.

"[The song] is fun, it’s sexy, it’s a party song," Veronica told us when we caught up with her this week. "It’s all about letting loose and having a good time. “Mama Mia” is also exploding in  Zumba Fitness classes around the country, which I’m thrilled about because I love Zumba Fitness! It’s a fun dance song with a lot of Latin flavor."

In addition to her upbeat music, the 32-year-old is known for her super-sexy curves and pin-up girl looks (she was once named the U.S. Marines' favorite pin-up girl and is currently the face of Pin Up Styles). Her secret? A high-protein, low-carb diet (with an occasional splurge on coconut flan) and an addiction to ballet barre classes and morning yoga!

"When I need a little extra push, I really refocus on my health…I’ll make a healthy meal, get a little workout in," she says. "To me, there’s nothing sexier than being healthy and happy."

Estamos de acuerdo, Mayra. Check out the official video below and then tell us: What do you think of the single? Will you be adding it to your playlist? Let us know in the comments below or Tweet us @Shape_Magazine!
