The performance of the 2014 Olympics may have happened this weekend during the ladies team figure skating short program on Saturday when 15-year-old Russian skater Yulia Lipnitskaya took the ice and absolutely killed it.
Yulia, who made the minimum age cutoff for the Olympics by 26 days and moved to Moscow to perfect her training (she's originally from Yekaterinberg), is the youngest skater to ever win the European Championships (she did so earlier this month, crushing previously reigning champion Italian skater Carolina Kostner), and now it looks like she's gunning for gold in Sochi. With a score of 72.90 for her short program, she ended the team event in first place, followed by Kostner and Japan's Mao Asada.
