Bethenny Frankel is taking over the bar and it’s not because she’s the next reality star with a party problem. In fact, it doesn’t even have to do with the Skinnygirl Margarita that really put her on the map. She’s ventured into the world of nutrition bars, which she is calling a ‘guilt-free indulgence bar.’ Bold statement Bethenny, bold statement. So as someone who tests a lot of nutrition bars I proceeded with caution.
It wasn’t until one evening when I was looking for something a little chewy, a little salty sweet, and a little bit naughty I decided to give the new ‘indulgence bars’ a try. I had the dark chocolate multi-grain pretzel and for 8 grams of fat and 11 grams of sugar I satisfied my sweet tooth. I really enjoyed how chewy it was and, breaking the two 100-calorie sections apart let me snack on it for twice as long, which I really liked. Sometimes snack-time is over before you know it!
I prefer the pretzel bar (because I don’t go for “fruity flavors”) but I will say the banana oatmeal dark chocolate is pretty good too. I was most impressed to see bananas as an actual ingredient on the label, alongside almonds and walnuts, which makes you feel good. The banana flavor comes in at 6 grams of fat and 13 grams of sugar. What’s more, both flavors are vegan.
