You love wine. You love coffee. Put them together, and you have...coffee-flavored wine?
That's what Friends Fun Wine is going for, at any rate. The company, which bills itself as the pioneer of the "fun wine" category, has just introduced its two newest additions to the line: cabernet coffee espresso and chardonnay coffee cappuccino.
“As creators of the 'fun wine' category, the addition of cabernet coffee espresso and chardonnay coffee cappuccino strongly aligns with our mission to deliver a fun drinking experience,” Joe Peleg, CEO of Friends Fun Wine, said in a press statement. “We are proud to be the first-to-market with our Fun Wine In A Can™, and look forward to introducing the new coffee varieties to our fun-loving fans."
I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this—I thought the recent emergence of weed-spiked coffee was weird enough—and I get the appeal of both coffee and vino, but generally, there's a reason people don't mix their uppers and downers: Stimulants and sedatives can be a recipe for disaster (remember the federal Four Loko debacle?). Still, in keeping with the brand's low-cal vibe, each wine is only 94 calories and 6 percent alcohol.
Bonus: They come in cans, so if you're not a beer person, but don't want to be the only one holding a glass at your next outdoor BBQ, these could be a fun drink option.
