The Fourth Cocktail of Christmas: Four Calling Birds (in a Spice Tree)

On the fourth day of Christmas my true love gave to me four calling birds (who live in a spice tree), three French martinis, two turtlenecks, and Campari with a pear purée.

I learned about the Spice Tree from East Coast Brand Ambassador for English Gins (Beefeater and Plymouth), Nick Van Tiel. Earlier this year he stopped by the SHAPE offices to give us the low-down on gin and we’ve been huge fans ever since. This drink is spicy and has a very masculine feel so, if the French martini just didn’t do it for you or your man, give the Spice Tree a try. Another three-ingredient cocktail, the Spice Tree is super-easy to make yet the sprig of rosemary really makes it feel special. To make in larger quantities just keep the ratio of ingredients the same. At less than 90 calories you may want to make a few for yourself—and your guests!

Ingredients
1oz Plymouth gin
½oz fresh lime juice
2oz ginger beer

Directions
Serve Plymouth gin with fresh lime juice, spicy ginger beer and a sprig of fresh rosemary.
