January 24th is National Peanut Butter Day and in honor of this all important holiday I’ve decided to round up the healthiest ways to enjoy peanut butter (sometimes accompanied by chocolate, sometimes not) for all the PB lovers out there—and I know there are tons of you!
According to Yahoo! Clues 68 percent of “peanut butter” searches come from women so I know our Fit Foodies are out there searching for great peanut butter recipes. And if you live in California, Texas, New York, Florida, or Illinois you’re even more likely to be searching for “peanut butter.” Personally, as a young woman living in New York City, I’ve been doing my part searching the web for the best-tasting yet diet-friendly ways to enjoy it.
We all know peanut butter is packed with protein, about 7 grams per two tablespoons, but what are the other health benefits? Peanut butter’s fat is primarily the good, monounsaturated kind. It also contains niacin, vitamin E, calcium, potassium, and iron. But if you’re like me, putting the peanut butter jar down after just two tablespoons can be the hardest part of enjoying the tasty treat. That’s why I rounded up these creative, healthy, and often pre-portioned ways to enjoy the nutritional powerhouse without fear.
