It's Girl Scout Cookie season, and this year promises to be different than any other in a big way: You can now purchase cookies with a credit card. Thirty-two troops in 23 states have embraced the mobile card-collecting devices (as well as a fancy new app that shows you the closest location to buy cookies), so now the next time you're cornered by one of those sweet little girls in green, you have no excuse not to buy a box (or 10). While this is delicious news for your taste buds, it's less-than-stellar for your waistline (and your wallet).
And don't be fooled by the new cookie this year, Mango Cremes with Nutrifusion™. While this sandwich cookie of vanilla and coconut wafers and mango creme is promoted as a "healthier snack alternative," it's still a dessert. The added vitamins from the Nutrifusion don't make up for the fact that each cookie is 60 calories and almost 3 grams of fat (that's more than a Thin Mint or Do-si-do). Not that you can't enjoy them—just indulge responsibly!
