Crisp, light, slightly sweet, with a touch of bitter, you can drink this low-cal cocktail all day!
To take advantage of the last warm summer (it’s not officially over yet!), my girl friends and I are having a backyard barbecue bonanza this Saturday! We’re meeting early to hit the market and then heading to our friend’s apartment for some outdoor cocktailing and cooking. Considering we’ll be drinking basically all day—our ETA is 1 p.m. with no end time in sight—I’m bringing the makings for a drink that is light, refreshing, and not too sweet.
The Lil Q uses Lillet White, a medium-colored white wine with a slightly bitter taste and traces of honey, and Q Tonic, one of my favorite new finds. Made with real quinine, a touch of agave, and just 24 calories per serving I’m obsessed. If you enjoy Campari or Aperol cocktails, think a Venetian spritz, this one’s for you!
3 ounces Lillet White (Can’t find it? Give vermouth a try)
4 ounces Q Tonic
Mint or orange, for garnish
Fill a highball glass with ice, add the Lillet White, and top with tonic. Garnish with mint or citrus of your choosing.
