Starting last Saturday and in light of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, I wanted to take the time to reflect on all of the things in my life for which I am grateful. I've kept track over the past week and listed below is what I captured each day. It's interesting to see how much the people in my life effect my happiness and my overall level of gratitude towards life.
I'm continuing this all of next week leading into the holiday and ask that you join me in keeping tabs on what you are thankful for.
Saturday 11/12: Today I'm grateful for my recent visit to Washington, D.C. It was my first time visiting since I was a child, and because of the extraordinary people behind Run Riot Films, I had the opportunity to attend the Capital Food Fight event hosted by Anthony Bourdain in partnership with D.C. Central Kichen. D.C. Central Kitchen is empowering small businesses to tackle the health challenges in their communities by delivering fresh produce and healthy snacks to food deserts around DC. Sunday 11/13: I'm thankful for the birthday of my good friend Sara's two-year-old daughter Lola today. Children make us appreciate the simple things.
Monday 11/14: I'm thankful for lunch dates with out-of-town friends and trying new restaurants. I heart you Kendra and Cafe Gitane.
Tuesday 11/15: I'm grateful for Pam Reese, my favorite yoga teacher in New York City. She has a way of calming me and helping me feel centered in the middle of a hectic day.
Wednesday 11/16: I'm thankful for Dale Dumas, my hairdresser of more than four years. Not only is he a beautifully talented man, he revitalizes my appearance every few months and makes for a wonderful companion for the hour I spend sitting in his chair.
Thursday 11/17: I'm grateful for my health and having the ability to stay physically strong by exercising my body nearly every day.
Please comment below with what you are grateful over the next week or post on SHAPE's Girl on the Go Facebook Wall and I'll include your collective sentiments of gratitude in next weeks post and maybe we'll find a little inspiration from each other's lives.
