First, I'll introduce myself. I'm Shelly, a 23 year old living in Pittsburgh. I just graduated last May from Duquesne University and I'm lucky to have an entry level job in my field of advertising.
Since I've graduated, and taken my 8-6 job, I'm having a hard time getting motivated to work out and/or find the time to do so. Shape has been in my life for about 5 years and the many techniques and pointers, inspiration, etc are a great help.
I've just joined this Shape community in the hopes to be inspired by all of you who share the same goals and passions: get fit, be healthy - on the inside and out, and pass on inspiration to others who need it.
One of my first goals is to wake up earlier so I can fit in a workout before I do anything else in my day. In one issue of Shape, from years ago, it mentioned that the best way to start this routine, (especially if you're not a morning person), is to wake up at the early time, but don't even attempt to work out for a few days. This way your body can get used to being up earlier, before you start working it!
I'll keep updating you all on my progress, and hopefully it can help someone else too. I have a "life" blog at www.blogburgh.wordpress.com and that also has exercise updates and tips from both me and my sister.
Thank you all for the support during this 2010 journey of becoming a holistically healthy person! Best of luck to everyone!
