There's nothing new about designers creating lower-priced lines--and truth be told, it's hard to get excited about each one. But Rachel Roy's collection for Macy's, launching this fall, doesn't disappoint. Last night, she previewed Rachel Rachel Roy in her new showroom, the perfect setting for her rock-inspired ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags, and jewelry. Instead of a red carpet photo area, a graffiti wall had been set up, and fashion's finest munched on French fries and mini burgers as they perused the racks.
The pieces are all remarkably well-made considering the recession-friendly price points (most items are under $200). It's also spot on trend, with zipper and chain details and very mini dresses. And in true Roy fashion, there's plenty of (faux) fur. But don't be scared off--most items have a wearable-cool vibe.
What do you think, ladies? Will you queue up for this one?
