Regular workouts can put quite the strain on any fitness wardrobe. Heck, this past weekend tennis star Venus Williams came close to having a wardrobe malfunction of her own when the strap on her dress (not the outfit seen here) snapped during the game, nearly exposing herself. Talk about a near miss!  Fitness wardrobe malfunctions aren't just a worry for elite athletes like Venus though. Here are three fitness wardrobe malfunctions that are common among everyday exercisers and how you can prevent them from happening!

How to Prevent Common Fitness Wardrobe Malfunctions

1. You split your yoga pants. It's one that almost all of us have had at some point in our workout lives: the dreaded seam split. While it's hard to prevent this one entirely, you lower your odds by taking a peek at the seams of your workout clothes after each washing. If they look like they're getting thin, it's time to either get them fixed or get another pair. Also, it's always a good idea to carry a safety pin or two with you just in case of emergencies like this. A safety pin probably saved Venus' day, too!

2. You have giant sweat stains in not-so modest places. There you are, sweating it out, only to head back into the locker room and realize that you have dark sweat stains in places that you'd rather not direct attention to. (Girls, I've had them high, low and just about everywhere in between.) How do you prevent this fitness wardrobe malfunction? Before wearing your fitness apparel in public, do a really tough and sweaty workout at home in them first. Wardrobe malfunctions are more hilarious than embarrassing when they happen in the comfort of your own home. 

3. You flash your group class when you do any mat work. Well, those running shorts seemed long enough... that is until you got down on the mat to do reverse crunches. Besides our advice to test out any clothes at home before debuting them at the gym, always be sure that your looser shorts have a tighter layer underneath to cover you. Or, better yet, wear capris!
