While some people can wax on about politics, religion, or Kimye’s new baby, I could blab about beauty for hours. (As the beauty editor at SHAPE, I guess you could say this gift of gab is somewhat of a job requirement.) So when the opportunity arose to man the Guerlain counter (swoon!) on Thursday, August 1 at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City, I jumped at the chance. Honestly, who would say no to chatting about everything from behind-the-scenes beauty tips to trends, all while trying on luxe cosmetics (like my go-to Guerlain Maxi Lash Mascara), fragrance, and skin care?
It’s all part of the second annual Beauty Editors Day, an event that benefits Look Good Feel Better, an organization that has helped women with cancer address the appearance-related effects of treatment for more than 24 years. A $30 donation entitles you to a makeup consultation/application and some beauty talk with yours truly. And there may just be a fabulous gift bag involved.
If you want to get in on this day of glamour, schedule your 20-minute time slot (between noon and 7:00 p.m.) at lookgoodfeelbetter.org by July 31. Not in the NYC area? Check out the charity’s new mobile app, which helps you find a Look Good Feel Better program near you, make a donation, and even get a virtual makeover.
Can’t wait to meet you this summer—and get my beauty gossip on!
