New Study Suggests Link Between Acetaminophen and Asthma
Do you suffer from asthma? Take acetaminophen regularly? A new study recently published in the journal Pediatrics has found that acetaminophen, which is marketed as Tylenol, may exacerbate asthma in children and adults who already have it. The study also hypothesizes that acetaminophen may play a role in new asthma cases.
The research cites a number of other studies that have found a possible link between asthma and acetaminophen. While researchers caution that no direct link has been proven and the association could be due to something else, many medical professionals are seeing the new research as an opportunity to remind patients that they should be cautious when taking all medications, even over-the-counter ones like acetaminophen, according to MSNBC.
