We’ve been talking a lot about food lately, but I’m also getting back into the workout groove now that the holidays are over. I was in desperate need of some new gear. I may or may not have been wearing cotton leggings as running tights all winter. Yeah…that needed to be fixed. In the November issue of SHAPE, Kelly Osbourne shared how looking cute helps get her to the gym, and I’m totally in agreement. I don’t put on makeup (though if it gives you a confidence boost, go for it!) but I’m a huge fan of cute workout clothes. Might as well look good while you sweat, right? Here are my (cheap and chic!) active wear picks.
GapBodyFit long-sleeve top with thumbholes so the sleeves don’t slip up—I bought this one.
Flattering Target stretch pants, would be adorable paired with any brightly-colored top.
GapBodyFit jacket with sleek lines and cute colors.
It’s hard to find the balance between inexpensive and high quality, but I’ve had good luck with both of these brands. Never cut corners on shoes, though, especially if you do high-impact activities. The right shoes protect your joints, help prevent injury, and hold up against constant wear and tear. Now that’s what I call healthy retail therapy!
