Food for thought

Today I met my nutritionist, Ruth Frechman, R.D. I drove to her office and we sat down and chatted for a few minutes about the three ways people lose weight:

  1. Extremely limit your calories
  2. Work out like crazy
  3. Eat a little less and work out moderately

Our goal is the last one. Ruth suggested I try small frequent meals and only to eat when Iā€™m actually hungry. I also need to up my water intake and should stop feeling guilty about splurges every now and then. She gave me lots of handouts and told me to start keeping a food log, jotting down what I eat, when, where, who I was with, and my emotions about each meal.
