Once I’ve made plans to do something, it’s hard for me to change them. But my life coach, Michelle Hastie, told me I need to set my schedule in sand, not stone. That way, if something doesn’t work out, I can just change things around. This was put to test the other day when, due to horrible rain and tons of traffic, my trainer Whitney Cole was super late for our workout session. I kept expecting her to arrive and she kept calling to tell me she wasn’t moving on the expressway. Finally, since I had to be at work, I told her to forget it and we would reschedule for later in the week. I was frustrated that my day didn’t go as I’d planned, but it wasn’t the end of the world. Rolling with the punches will keep me from getting overly stressed when life throws a curveball.
