The Late Night Habit That Makes You Binge Tomorrow

We all know it’s important to get seven to eight hours of sleep in order to tackle the next day head-on. I’ve also heard rumors that if you are tired you can give in to cravings and end up off track of your healthy eating and exercise regimen.

Well, the rumors are true! I recently stayed out with friends way too late, didn’t get enough sleep, and ended up feeling tired and vulnerable the next morning. All I wanted was a huge bagel with cream cheese, not my normal egg-white omelet.

I didn’t give in to those cravings in the morning, but by dinnertime, I was ravenous. I ended up hitting the drive-through for not one but two McDonald’s cheeseburgers and French fries. It was delicious! But since I’ve stopped eating red meat (except for that indiscretion) I got sick—literally. And I felt guilty that I fell off the wagon, all because I missed a few hours of zzzs. Lesson learned! No more late nights.
