After just six weeks of training, I ran my first 5K and completed it in 36 minutes, which averages out to be a 12-minute mile. I’m really proud that I pushed through, not only because the race was early in the morning the day after I returned from vacation, but my flight had been delayed for hours. I wasn’t even sure that I would make it. But I powered through and completing the race was well worth it. The energy and comradery amongst the runners was electrifying. And the hot chocolate I enjoyed at the finish line was delicious! After the cold, early-morning run, I earned it.
