Once I realized that weight-loss motivation really does come from within, the pounds started to drop. You need to push yourself to get the results you want.
Sure I have a lot of help losing weight—a personal trainer, nutritionist, life coach, and all of you cheering me on—but no matter how many people are on your side, the only person who decides whether you stay motivated and achieve your goals is you. Your thoughts determine your behavior, which in turn determines your results. Through this last nine months with SHAPE, I’ve grown (and shrank!) so much. It was hard going when the scale wouldn’t move or my pants kept fitting the same way. But once I got out of my head and started to focus on doing the work, the pounds came off and I had to get new pants. It truly is all up to you, no matter if you have coaches or not. They can tell you what to do and how to do it, but when push comes to shove it’s you that has to do the work to get the results you want. What are you waiting for?
