Nuts for nuts

I recently bought a bag of trail mix with almonds, dried fruit, and dark chocolate to snack on. The only problem is that the combination tastes too good! A serving size is only ¼ cup because of the high-calories ingredients, but once I start eating it I have a hard time stopping.

My nutritionist, Katherine Tallmadge, R.D., said it would probably be best for me to stop keeping it in my cupboards. Instead, I should stick with plain, raw almonds, which I still love, but can only eat so much of. And as an extra precaution, I should portion out one serving size and then close the bag before I begin eating.
