Words can be so empowering. Early on my life coach, Kate Larsen, suggested I develop a personal mantra that can help me stay motivated to lose weight. It ended up being: "Will this decision move me closer to the woman I wish I be?"

When I remember to use the mantra (sometimes it slips my mind), I'm automatically pulled back to the present, and as my goals and confidence come rolling back, I'm able to stop myself from eating something that won't encourage my weight loss, or I will make myself go for a walk.

Sometimes when I need a little more inspiration, I turn to Pinterest and look for fun and motivational quotes. I can easily get sucked in and spend an hour on the site, so I do my best to get a buzz from the motivation and get moving right afterward—like at the gym. I like the classics, "Just Believe" and, "No Excuses," but here are some of my other favorite quotes:
