Take it Outside

 

During high school I was a member of the Track & Field team. On training days we used to run long distances to build our stamina even though I was a sprinter. I used to compete in the 400- and 800-meter relay races. I remember feeling an adrenaline rush as I waited for my teammates to reach me and pass along the baton. Competing and winning was an exhilarating experience, to say the least.

My workouts now consist of running, jogging, and walking on the treadmill. Because the weather has been great lately, I went for a run outdoors for the first time in months last weekend. It felt so good to be outside in the fresh air. I felt young, free, and alive. In order to spend more time outside and change up my workout, I’m going to run outdoors at least once a week from now on.
