Michelle Hastie, my life coach, had me do an activity today she calls a “gratitude explosion.” It’s an activity where you sit down and write out everything you are grateful for. She wanted me to do it in three bursts because you keep remembering things as you go on. The first time I sat down, I listed family, friends, animals, and other sort of basic things. The second time I wrote more about the people I’ve loved in my life—both today and in the past. And for the last session, I went a little nuts and came up with everything from lattes, to Ina Garten, to laying out on the beach in the warm sunshine (covered in SPF 30 of course!). It made me realize how many things in life I have to be grateful for, which keeps everything in perspective.
