Moving Counts as a Workout-2Our west-coast office is relocating next week, and I'm in pack-and-purge mode. I'll be going from a big office to a cramped cubicle, so I'm recycling old magazines and files, and trying to whittle down the fitness gear closet to only the necessities. This morning I woke up with sore arms (despite the fact that I haven't done an upper-body strength move in weeks)...thanks, moving boxes!

Carrying boxes and moving furniture burns nearly 7 calories per minute (that's 415 an hour)—more than you torch walking. And if the boxes are heavy, you get lots of strength work in, too. So in case you were wondering: I will not be hitting the gym today or tomorrow.
