In
week 3 of DWTS each contestant chose a song to represent the most memorable year of their life. There were lots of emotional stories like the end of
David Arquette’s marriage to
Courteney Cox and his battle with alcoholism, the birth of
Nancy Grace’s twins, and
Carson Kressley’s struggle to find confidence as a gay “outsider” to name a few. But none was more moving than
J.R. Martinez’s rumba dedicated to those who lost their lives in military service. Everyone could see and feel the emotion in his performance and the judges rewarded him with two nines and an eight putting him in second place with
Chynna Phillips.
