Jessica Biel

There are many good reasons why Jessica Biel constantly takes our fittest female crown. There's her 2010 hike to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro, her fit-and-fun lifestyle (including biking around town with Justin Timberlake), and her enviably toned physique. In 2012, Jessica kicked butt yet again with Total Recall, which she prepared for with martial arts classes. This year, she kept up her routine, including circuit training and lots of yoga. With all that on her fitness plate, it's no wonder Mrs. Timberlake is always the fit celeb we can't get enough of!

Starring in the blockbuster Gravity and jet-setting to premieres and film festivals throughout the year didn't stop Sandra Bullock from sticking to her workout routine. The 49-year-old says she stays motivated by mixing up her workouts—kickboxing, Pilates, and weight training are just a few ways she sweats it out. Sandra also uses a meal plan, which includes a cheat day, in order to stay on track.

Salma Hayek's secret to looking young? Enjoying life. While the actress does take care to exercise and eat right—she uses juices from her Cooler Cleanse line to help her get back on track after a particularly indulgent period—she knows that overexercising and undereating is a recipe for disaster. In 2012, the star told Harper's Bazaar, "I am happy because I eat. I am 46—I will not have Botox. You know why? Because I eat! I eat the fat. I eat the vegetables. I eat everything. If you exercise too much and you don’t eat enough, it takes its toll on the skin. Everything starts aging. And you know what? You look miserable."

When watching Jennifer Lopez on stage, it's easy to see why she has such an enviable figure: Her high-energy performances, no doubt, keep her in shape! But it's her dedication to the rest of the puzzle that keeps her glowing and on the go. Jennifer practices portion control; stays away from sugar, alcohol, and salt; and makes sure to get eight hours of sleep a night in order to continue looking her best. She is also a huge fan of the Tracy Anderson Method.

With her New York Times op-ed earlier this year, Angelina Jolie helped shed light on hereditary breast cancer and the screening options available to those who suspect they might be at risk. Jolie, who inherited a mutated BRCA gene from her mom, underwent a voluntary double-mastectomy in February in order to significantly lower her risk of developing breast cancer. Her decision to speak out about how she is taking care of her health and her encouragement for others to learn their options earn her a fittest female award in our book.

When we see a picture of Sarah Jessica Parker, there are two things we always notice—how toned her arms are and how she's always walking everywhere! Sarah makes fitness a priority not only for Hollywood but also to feel her best. "I do like feeling fit and healthy. When you're young, you can run around and not really care about what shape you're in because you wake up every day feeling okay. But now that I'm older, I need to do more for myself," she told Good Housekeeping.

Former ballerina Zoe Saldana stays strong and lean by mixing up her workouts—while she's a devotee of Pilates, she works out with a trainer to keep her motivated and not bored. Zoe also avoids extreme diets, taking a more balanced view when it comes to healthy living. "You can't forget that you only live once—you have to enjoy the pleasures of life, and you also have to enjoy the work in life," she told O, The Oprah Magazine. "That means that if you like to eat, then work out, be healthy. Keep that heart strong and healthy!"

All photos

Kate Hudson stays in shape by being active and having an admirable outlook on life. Her fitness secrets include Pilates (try her workout), workouts with the family, frequent meals, and lots of water, but it's her healthy living motto that's our favorite. "It's important to be conscious of your health and not indulge too much in the things that are bad for you. Do I mind having my appearance constantly scrutinized? I don't have enough time on this planet to worry about things like that. I'm more concerned with if I'm raising my son properly, with what makes my family happy, with what makes me happy," Kate said in 2010.

For shapely and strong legs like Reese, her trainer Michael George recommends this martial arts workout.
