Chinese tennis pro Li Na secured her spot as one of the sport's top competitors when she won the 2011 French Open singles title, becoming the first player from Asia to win a Grand Slam in singles. In reference to the tattoo on her chest, she told TIME, "I'm a romantic, so when I was 16 years old with my now husband, I thought I should make something only for us. The first time I showed the tattoo, it was big news in the newspaper: 'She has a tattoo with a snake.' It's not a snake… It's a rose with a heart."
