Dancing with the Stars eliminations are never fun, but we feel a little bad about last night's results. While we have not been huge fans of eliminated couple Elisabetta Canalis and Val Chmerkovskiy (as host Tom Bergeron said, Elisabetta was, “the most improved dancer”), should Canalis have gone home last night?
After week one, we were ready for Canalis to go. She did not seem to take the judges comments to heart, her performance was poor, and, more than anything, the tense dynamic between Canalis and Chmerkovsky was difficult to watch during rehearsals. But we think Elisabetta improved more than just her dancing skills from week one to week two. Before taking to the DWTS stage Canalis admitted that the judges were not happy with her dance on week one saying, “I hope to make them super happy with my quick step.” The judges did seem happy and so did she. We loved how Canalis and Chmerkovsky ran into the confessional excited about their performance and scores. Too bad there wasn’t more time for Canalis and Chmerkovsky to grow as a team this season on Dancing with the Stars, but as Tom Bergeron said, at least the pair is “leaving on a high note in terms of your dancing.”
