WWE wrestler Brie Bella was recently in the news for having a C-section because her abs were "too tight," and now she's opening up about what it's like to accept her post-baby body and ease back into exercise.
17 days since I've given birth and I have zero shame in my postpartum belly!! Graced with some stretch marks and 20 more pounds to lose I'm finally able to start a little cardio. Join me on my journey to getting back my pre pregnancy body. It's gonna be a long road but I'm ready!!!Only on my YouTube channel, link in bio
"17 days since I've given birth and I have zero shame in my postpartum belly!!" she wrote on Instagram alongside a picture of her belly. "Graced with some stretch marks and 20 more pounds to lose I'm finally able to start a little cardio. Join me on my journey to getting back my pre-pregnancy body. It's gonna be a long road but I'm ready!!!"
To help keep her motivated and her fans updated, Brie plans to document her progress on her YouTube channel with the help of her husband. So far, she's already posted a video of her first post-baby workout which involved 15 minutes of cardio on a stationary bike. (Keep in mind that every woman is different, so talk to your doc before working out postpartum, especially if you had a C-section.)
In the video, Brie explains that even though it's just been two weeks since she gave birth, she's already lost 25 pounds—her goal being to lose 20 more. That said, she quickly realized that even a short cardio workout was much harder than she'd imagined.
"I think this will be a really fun journey," Brie said in the video. "For all you new moms out there, join me. Let's just take it one step at a time. Let's go as slow as we can. Some days are going to be good, some days are going to be bad, but we'll do it together."
