You don't need to go far to find some serious fitness motivation—just unlock your smartphone and get scrolling. You're sure to stumble across a smoothie bowl or two, a six-pack or booty selfie, and proud post-race photos. (And this is a great thing—social media can seriously boost your fitness goals.)
While it seems like there are a million and one fitness influencers these days, there are a handful who stand out from the crowd. That's why Forbes took the time to rank the Internet's top influencers—including a lineup of the top 10 fitness players as of April 2017. They're ranked by audience size, virality, engagement, and the potential for earnings (minus anyone who earned their fame offline, like Jillian Michaels). Here, the top five in the fitness world, according to Forbes.
1. Kayla Itsines
At just 25 years old, Kayla Itsines, the creator of the Bikini Body Guides (BBG), is one of the OG workout queens of Instagram. Her 6.7 million Instagram followers are crazy loyal—she sold out a stadium tour in under an hour and raked in over $17 million in revenue from her "Sweat with Kayla" app in 2016, according toForbes. You've no doubt seen some impressive transformation photos on your feed, courtesy of Kayla's workouts. (Here, Kayla dishes all about what's wrong with "before and after" photos.) And there's a reason the BBG army is so hooked; give her arms and abs workout or total-body circuit workout a try and see for yourself.
2. Jennifer Selter
You may know Jen Selter mainly as the Most Famous Butt on Instagram, but her empire has expanded far beyond the booty (just ask her 10.7 million followers). She now runs six different Instagram accounts (including @couplegoals and @thatbikini) and has her own workout program on the Fitplan app.
3. Emily Skye
Aussie Emily Skye has been dominating the #realtalk fitness game for a while now. She shares the ups and downs of her unfiltered fitness lifestyle with her 2 million Instagram followers—like how gaining weight made her happier and the real side of those seemingly perfect abs you see on your social feed. She serves up meal plans and tough workouts in her F.I.T. guides and app, and has some exciting stuff in the works with Reebok as one of their global ambassadors. If her transparent approach and crazy-strong muscles have you feeling inspired, try her lower abs workout or total-body strengthening routine for a taste of her workout magic.
4. Michelle Lewin
Venezuelan Michelle Lewin's physique is so on-point that she's also known as #lacuerpa or "the body." The 31-year-old international fitness model and body builder has amassed more than 10 million Instagram followers (and that's just on her main account), and, like Selter, has workout programs on the Fitplan app, plus her own line of supplements and a workout gear line for LaBellaMafia.
5. Joe Wicks
Better known as @thebodycoach, Joe Wicks is the creator of the Lean in 15 cookbook series and the 90-day Shift, Shape and Sustain Plan. He shares workout vids on the reg on his YouTube channel (where you can enjoy his British accent). His mission? To "rescue people from the awful dieting industry." That (plus his abs, obv) are something we can totally get behind.
