We Gave Olympic Swimmer Natalie Coughlin a Pop Fitness Quiz

With 12 Olympic medals—three gold, four silver, and five bronze—it's easy to only think of Natalie Coughlin as the queen of the pool. But she's so much more than a swimmer—remember her stint on Dancing with the Stars? She also crushes it in the kitchen (just check out her drool-worthy Instagram dishes, her signature almond cherry recovery smoothie, and her gluten-free homemade granola bars). She's even an urban farmer. And she' wasn't phased by our lightning round of super-intense (and hilarious) questions. But to score that many Olympic medals, 20 World Champs medals, and to become the first American woman to have won six medals in one Olympiad (Beijing 2008), Natalie Coughlin has to know at least a little bit about fitness. To help her prep for the Summer 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, we put her fitness IQ to the test. She still has to qualify at the U.S. time trials this summer, but we think she's got what it takes to rep Team U.S.A. in Rio and bring home some more hardware. We quizzed her on everything from women's swim history to pre-swim snacks and the truth about donuts vs. muffins.
