The jump rope crossover drill is a more advanced progression of the regular jump rope. It develops coordination and conditioning.
Step by step instructions
With your feet together and holding the handles of the jump rope at your sides, swing the jump rope over your head, and jump. During the next rotation, cross your arms in front of your body and jump through the loop. Bring your arms back to your sides and continue jumping. Perform the crossover move every four to five rotations.
Mistakes and Tips
- Only go as high as necessary. Light hops can make you more efficient.
- You don't need to crossover on every jump. Alternate at a pace that is comfortable.
- Make sure to land softly on your feet.
