Conquer your fear of heights...for good
Take on greater heights as you're able
You're an accomplished person, but you can't bring yourself to look out your corner window on the sixth floor. You're not alone: Acrophobia, or fear of heights, is the second most common phobia, and it affects up to 9 percent of women. "Fortunately, you can usually treat it on your own," says Martin M. Antony, Ph.D., author of Overcoming Fear of Heights. The key is to expose yourself to gradually increasing heights. Start by confronting the least scary one you can tolerate and build up from there. Eventually you will overcome your fear- and feel on top of the world.
