The 2017 Nike Black History Month Collection Is Here

In 2005, Nike celebrated Black History Month (BHM) for the first time with a single Air Force One sneaker. Fast forward to today, and the message of this collection is just as important as ever.

Nike just announced their full BHM spread for this year, which features 10 different sneakers, along with apparel, and celebrates black heritage in sport and beyond. The release includes three different Jordan Brand basketball sneakers, the Serena Williams' Nike Flare, the Nike Lunar Epic, and Jordan Trunner. Nike is also offering the original men's Air Force 1 Hi, women's AF1 Upstep, and special edition Air Jordan 1s for men and kids. (Don't worry, adult ladies can rock them too.)

The pride doesn't need to stop at your ankles; the 'MVP' jacket and pant and 'Equality' tee are also part of the 2017 BHM rollout. (ICYMI, Beyoncé just launched the latest in her Ivy Park line too.)

Even cooler than the products themselves is the sentiment behind them: "The limited edition 2017 collection incorporates a decorative marbling—blending black and white—in reference to the strength of harmonious movement," according to the Nike announcement. And the gold accents don't hurt. (If you love gold, you'll die over Nike's rose gold gear.)

The heart of the collection is backed by Nike's initiative to better the community; the BHM collection historically supports Nike's Ever Higher Fund, which is dedicated to bringing mentorship and sport to youth and their communities.

And, of course, there's the women's lifestyle shoe—the AF1 Upstep—that you're going to want to wear with everything.

As hard as you're crushing over these gorgeous and inspiring kicks, you need to wait just a littttle bit before getting your hands on them; the Jordan Brand's basketball sneaks launch February 11 and the rest of the collection drops on February 16. Find them all at Nike.com and select retailers in North America.
