Hit the trails with the some of the headliners and newcomers rocking The Woodlands of Dover this summer
You know Coachella and Bonnaroo, but you may not have heard of Firefly. This musical camping extravaganza kicks off its third year today in Dover, DE. What's nice about festivals like Firefly is that they give you a chance to see a slew of bands you already like discovering some of your future favorites en route to the different stages. Even if you’re not already familiar with the indie-rock scene, you still might recognize one of the 100-plus big name bands and emerging artists gracing the woodsy campgrounds this weekend.
In anticipation of this summer’s gathering, we’ve assembled a few of the fest’s highlights into one handy playlist that you can take with you on your next workout. Included on the mix you'll find your favorite headliners, like Foo Fighters and Outkast, along with newer chart-toppers like Imagine Dragons (who played the festival's inaugural run) and The Lumineers (whose song "Ho Hey" is brilliantly suited for a gigantic crowd). Finally, on the up-and-coming front, you can check out the raucous pop of Bleachers or the woozy beats of Phantogram.
Whether or not you're making the trek to Firefly, its stellar lineup gives you a taste of what's new and great in music this summer. To that end, there should be something in the list below that'll fit your style and match your mood. So take a few tracks for a test run, then take your favorites for a run, for real.
