If the difference between your body weight before and after exercise is 2 percent (for example, 2.6 pounds for a 130-pound woman), then your athletic performance has been compromised. Every pound lost is equal to 16-ounces of fluid deficit, and more than 2 percent means there could be potential health risks, including elevated heart rate and body temperature.
