Meet a celebrity who's in this kind of shape and you expect to hear all about the exclusive trainers or high-priced equipment she uses. But Jewel's stay-slim secret will surprise you. "I do 'cowboy boot camp' at my neighbor's house [pro bull rider Jim Sharp]—with three guys," says the 35-year-old, who lives on a 2,200-acre ranch two hours outside of Dallas. The group does cardio to an exercise DVD (their fave is Insanity), then whips out some leg and ab moves. Although an injury has sidelined her normal routine, Jewel still gets through her ab workout two or three times a week. While the singer prefers to do a series of different crunches without equipment, we showed her how adding a few tools can really crank up the resistance. If you've been doing the same ab routine for months—with lackluster results—take a page from Jewel's songbook and you'll finally get your belly bulge to budge.

WHAT TO DO
Do 1 set of these moves 2 or 3 times a week. Rest for up to a minute between sets.

YOU'LL NEED
A resistance band, a 5- to 8-pound dumbbell or weighted ball, and a stability ball (find gear at theshapestore.com)
