Repetitions: 10-15
POSITION A Lie on a flat bench, knees bent and feet on bench edge. Grasp a medicine ball in both hands, then bend arms so ball is over left shoulder, close to left ear, elbows bent. Tighten abs to bring spine into a neutral position.

POSITION B Contract abs to curl head, neck and shoulder blades off bench; at the same time, "chop" the ball, crossing arms to the outside of right knee. Slowly lower, using a controlled motion. Repeat for all reps, then switch sides to complete 1 set. Resistance: 2- to 6-pound medicine ball Easier option: Use an incline bench instead of a flat bench. Harder option: Use a decline bench.
